Injured at work do i need to report it?

If you have been injured at work then you must report it. Your employer will have to keep a record of this. If you were nearly injured at work or in a near miss situation this must also be report so that appropriate action can be taken and stepput in place for the same thing not to happen again.

If you are Injured at work then your employer must report serious work-related accidents, diseases and dangerous incidents to the Incident Contact Centre of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). They must report:

• death
• major injuries, eg a broken arm or ribs
• dangerous incidents, eg the collapse of scaffolding, people overcome by gas
• any other injury that stops an employee from doing their normal work for more than three days
• disease
The reporting must be done by your employer, but if you are involved it's a good idea to make sure it's been reported.
